- Select a name for you company. In order to adhere to Maine state law, the name must contain an LLC identifier, e.g. “Limited Liability Company”, “Ltd Liability Co” or “LLC”. The name cannot be the same as a name already occupied by another LLC, and you must of course refrain from violating trademarks. - File the Articles of Organization with the Maine State filing office.

- Apply for as many local business licenses as necessary. Keep in mind that the LLC will need one license for each city (or county) in which it plans to conduct business.
